New applications include: flexible displays, electronic paper as well as RFID tags for goods identification and access monitoring
Cooperation between the chemical industry, printing technology and electronics is giving birth to a new industry. Soon it will be possible to print electronic circuits on paper and plastics.
The development of printable CMOS circuits is a major milestone:
Matching combinations of p and n-type semiconductors are required for CMOS circuits.
They are chemically synthesized and formulated as printing inks.
- Low power demand allows a broader range of uses and longer service lives.
- Higher switching rates provide improved product performance.
- More stable operating data simplify the circuit design and enhance reliability.
p-type and n-type semi-conductors from BASF have already been successfully used in CMOS circuits.
Our range of materials is constantly being extended. We cooperate with our customers in formulating the materials into printable inks.
